Organizational consulting

Turn a good plan into consistent execution.

An assessment-led approach to strategy, operating systems and accountability, so priorities become weekly work and results become predictable.

What we work on

Six areas where organizations win or stall.

01

Organizational assessments

A structured review of leadership, priorities, ownership, systems and capacity that tells you the truth about where you stand.

02

Strategic planning and execution

A short list of priorities tied to budgets, calendars and owners, with a rhythm for reviewing progress.

03

Operating systems

Meeting cadence, decision rights, reporting and processes that let the organization run without heroics.

04

Culture and accountability

Clear expectations, respectful follow-through and a team that owns commitments and addresses misses early.

05

Growth and sustainability

Fund development, membership and partnership strategy that grows revenue without outpacing your capacity.

06

Leadership development

Building the next layer of leaders so the organization no longer depends on a few overstretched people.

What it costs to wait

A plan without execution doesn’t fail loudly. It fails quietly — the retreat everyone was excited about, still sitting in a shared drive six months later; good people doing good work that doesn’t add up to anything, because no one owns the whole picture.

Busy is not the same as effective.

How it works

Assess. Align. Execute.

The same disciplined path behind every SCOTT engagement, applied to your organization.

1

Assess

A structured organizational assessment tells you the truth about where you stand — in weeks, not months.

2

Align

Priorities narrow to a short list, each tied to a budget, a calendar and a named owner.

3

Execute & sustain

Operating rhythms and accountability systems keep priorities alive long after the engagement ends.

Relevant results

Growth that was measured, and kept.

Consulting is judged by outcomes. These come from operating leadership Kevin has delivered.

See the full results

  • $1.3M in recurring annual dues generated for a private club.
  • Initiation fees raised from $120,000 to $500,000.
  • Sports membership up 23% at one club and 28% at another.
  • More than $40,000 in annual savings through reorganized operations and staffing.

Kevin has a rare ability to see both the mission and the operational work required to advance it. He listens carefully, identifies the barriers holding an organization back, and translates ideas into practical priorities that people can execute. His leadership reflects sound judgment, personal integrity, and a sincere commitment to helping organizations and the people they serve achieve sustainable results.

Engagement options

Choose the level of support that fits.

Focused assessment

A defined-scope organizational assessment with clear findings and a prioritized roadmap you can execute yourself.

Project engagement

Hands-on work on a specific outcome, such as a strategic plan, an operating rhythm or a fund development strategy.

Ongoing advisory

A steady advisory relationship that keeps priorities, accountability and leadership development moving.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

How is this different from a typical strategy consultant?

Most strategy consultants deliver a plan and leave. Kevin’s assessments come from someone who has personally run the budgets, staff and board relationships he’s advising on — and engagements are built to include the operating systems that make a plan stick, not just the plan itself.

How long does a consulting engagement take?

A focused assessment typically runs four to six weeks. Project and ongoing advisory engagements are scoped to the outcome and agreed in writing before work begins.

Do we need a strategic plan already in place?

No. Many engagements start with organizations that have no current plan, or one that was never really executed. The assessment builds the plan from an honest picture of where you stand today.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on scope, duration and the level of support you choose. After an Impact Conversation, you receive a clear written proposal before anything is agreed.

What happens when the engagement ends?

Every engagement is built around Transfer Capacity: the operating rhythms, documentation and accountability systems stay with your team, not with Kevin.

I know how it feels to present a plan you’re privately not sure the board believes. The assessment is where that changes: a first honest, complete picture — often the first one a board has seen in years.
